RE: Inaugural Race Event a Huge Success!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Elmira, NY – The Arc of Chemung announces that the Inaugural Spooktacular 5k and Scarecrow Sprint 1 Mile event was a huge success! Taking place Sunday, October 25th, the event raised more than $7,500, to benefit the agency’s Recreation Program.

The Arc of Chemung’s Recreation Program creates recreation, socialization and leisure opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. People with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in the community are very often socially isolated and lack the social skills to pursue a life with meaningful relationships. Funds raised enable The Arc to provide opportunities for individual successes and meaningful relationships.

A special thank you to the following sponsors who contributed to the success of this event: Excellus BlueCross BlueShield; Hilliard Corporation; Visions FCU; Cameron Manufacturing and Design; Elmira Structures; First Heritage Federal Credit Union; Gough Holding Corporation; Mengel Metzger Barr & Co. LLP; Perry & Carroll Insurance; Southside Pudgies Pizza, Pasta and Subs; Southern Tier Running Club; as well as Ultimate Fit Chick and Past & Present DJ Productions, who both volunteered their time and talent.

Race results and photos can be found on The Arc of Chemung’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ArcOfChemung.
