FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Elmira, NY – The Arc of Chemung is pleased to announce that it’s vocational division, Southern Tier Industries (STI), has been granted NAID AAA Certification by the National Association for Information Destruction. Being certified enables STI to provide ongoing or one-time shredding services for both business and residential customers, in a certified setting, ensuring the confidential destruction of the documents shredded.

A ribbon cutting event will take place at The Arc of Chemung, located at 711 Sullivan Street in Elmira, on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 1:30 PM. Media partners and members of our community are invited to attend.

Southern Tier Industries (STI), the vocational division of The Arc of Chemung, provides training to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in order to develop vocational skills and work habits, in order for the individuals we support to be employed at local businesses. 127 individuals in Chemung County receive supports from STI. Additionally, there are 93 individuals supported who are employed by a community business and earning a paycheck of their own!
